I’ve been producing records since 1995. I’ve had the great pleasure and honour of working with some of the most talented artists in the music business, many of whom have had hit records and won or been nominated for Grammy’s. In 2007 I produced the 50-song/50 artist collection Song of America which won widespread acclaim and several awards including Record of the Year in Germany and the Justice Award. Via the internet I’ve been fortunate enough to work with many musicians all over the globe. It has enriched my life and work and has helped me expand my horizons and grow in my field. I’ve released several albums of my own so I can identify with the artists’ perspective at every phase of the production process, including interfacing with record labels. Current covers of my songs can be heard by Bettye LaVette on her Grammy-nominated 2007 album “Scene of the Crime” and Candi Staton on her 2009 release “Who’s Hurting Now?” on EMI. Again Candi Staton has chosen another of my songs, “Go (No Tear in My Eye)”, for her new 2013 recording with famed Muscle Shoals producer Rick Hall. In the past several years I have reached back to my first love of jazz and improvisation working with some tremendously talented and giving artists such as Giuseppi Logan, Cooper-Moore, Wadada Leo Smith, Thollem McDonas, Ray Russell, John Russell, Binker Golding, Eddie Prevost, Jessica Lurie, Jeff Lederer, Frode Gjerstad, Han Bennink, Henry Kaiser, Martin Kuchen, Tania Chen, Damon Smith, Roger Turner, Jeff Coffin, The London Experimental Ensemble, Five Times Surprise and Tracy Silverman among others. If anything this new experience has not only enhanced my perspective as a musician but improved and broadened my skills as a producer.
