La Horrox is a UK based performer, visual artist, sound artist and composer, her work encompassing projects across music, dance and installation. She realises her compositions through visual performance, music and sound conjured directly and indirectly through voice, body, object kinesthesis and electronics. Her work binds characters and objects d’art in neoteric myth, sculpted costume and ‘props’ are sonified, given voice, creating atmosphere, ubiquitous noise and music.

Atsuko Kamura, aka Kamura Obscura, is a Japanese agit-femme vocalist and electronic experimentalist. She is a former member of the seminal avant-garde ensemble Frank Chickens, and of Mizutama Shobodan (Polka Dot Fire Brigade), the first Japanese feminist punk band. Her voice-modulated improvisations and eco-surrealist chansons are weaved into a bizarre world of experimental sonics and inventions.

Dr Anat Ben-David’s latest release, Tzipora messes with the semantics of the word ‘album’, reconfiguring the word to take on a truly interdisciplinary meaning. This move is very much reflective of her own broader practice, which stretches from stationary audio, to video installation, to automatic writing, to chancing with human emotion, all at once. Ben-David has got all camps covered. It’s not surprising that she has worked with the likes of Peaches, and as part of Chicks on Speed, the feminist music-cum-fine art manifestation. It seems that second nature, to Anat Ben-David, sounds like Gilles Deleuze in a Pam Hogg jumpsuit. (The Quietus (by Ronnie Angel Pope, October 23rd, 2019) @anatbendavid2002
